What is an advertisement design?
Advertising art refers to graphic design used in the field of advertising, and includes print design, illustration, photography, and web and video development. Advertisements are the ads or the effort to sell, en-light or persuade you on an idea or product. What are Travel Posters? Travel posters not only advertised travel destinations, they were used by hotels, airlines, railroads and tourism companies to graphically represent themselves to the public. Many of them were considered works of art and ranged in style from art nouveau to mid-century modern. Railroads, ocean liners and air planes, the techno logic marvels of the early 20th century, inspired pleasurable and luxurious travel, and gave people the freedom to explore the world. This sparked the “Golden Age of Travel” which lasted until the outbreak of World War II. Then came the era of intercontinental air travel. This began after World War II and afforded travelers a more timely arrival at their destination. This was a boom time for travel posters, and they could be found everywhere. Since then, they have undergone many transformations in design. At first they were a jumble of images and text and crowded with information. By the early 1900s, Hugo d’Alesi (France), Emile Cardinaux (Switzerland) and Adolfo Hohenstein (Italy) simplified the travel poster by using fewer details which added power to the message. By the 1920s, A. M. Cassandre, his pupil Fix-Masseau, Tom Purvis, Frank Newbould and other artists transformed the travel poster from illustration to symbol. Posters continue to evolve with new methods and ideas and will always be a major part of our world. Characteristics of Good Advertisement Art “Posters reflect our culture and are like visual graphic icons of the times in which they were created.” ~ Robin Shepherd, travel poster collector. One of the most important characteristic is that the artwork accurate and easily communicates the destination either by displaying famous or unique landscape, buildings, people, and or culture. lastly Ad.design have a focal point. there is something that the artist is drawing the the viewers attention too. |

step two: Begin Rendering Your Poster in illustrator.

- Based on your sticker, choose a style to render your Poster: Organic or Geometric Shapes ie low poly
- add a new layer and based on the form and value of your imagery begin rendering shapes.
Fractal Art Styles: choose one!
Geometric Shaped FRACTAL artIf you’re not familiar with the term, you’ve certainly seen the style. Simple geometric shapes placed side-by-side to create angular, often minimalist, compositions. The “poly” from low poly comes from the word “polygon,” which is merely a 2-dimensional shape made of straight lines and angles.
The use of low poly art comes from the early days of 3D animation. Mocking up 3D scenes using a low polygonal resolution. The look caught on and artist began to explore this poly plainer study. The low poly look is in essence a break down of the subjects form in its lost primal and basic essence. we will be using this method as it kind of speaks to the essence of endangered species begin, the break down of life. . |
Organic Shaped FRACTAL ArtOrganic shapes is similar to low poly as it uses shapes to build together it's image. . Organic Shapes are shapes that are curvy and arent "Sharply angular and are more natural. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, and use very curvealinier outlines.
both types of art take a many shapes put together to create a unifying image. this is a great example of unity, an art principle. Unity exists when your elements agree. Unity can be seen as the single most important goal of any design; to make your whole design more than the sum of its parts Zentangle art ( an emerging art form) takes the basic concept of this style and just expands on it by placing patterns inside the shapes. |
