Hypnotic, robotic & mind-bendingly beautiful, Andy Gilmore takes you to another world with his geometric patterns. The New York based artist, who has released most of his recent work through creative platform Ghostly International, plays with symmetry, line and colour to produce complex, kaleidoscopic compositions. Repetition is the use of a shape, color, or other art element or design repeated two or more tomes in a work to create a unified look. The repetition might be limited to only an instance or two, enough to cause a visual echo and reinforce or accent certain aspects of the work. Symmetry is when one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide or turn it. The simplest type of Symmetry is "Reflection" when the symmetry of an object is just flipped once. the more complex symmetry is radial symmetry as used by Andy Gilmore. Radial symmetry is when there is a recitation in round way like a snowflake. Based digital artist Andy Gilmore We are going to create a geometric shaped pattern like the. Students will choose a slight transparent geometric shape that they will overlap various times to create an interesting effect. Students will have the option to create a circular symmetric design like a kaleidoscope or a linear symmetric pattern
