Part one: Create your graphic Horizon!

using you knowledge of illustrator and practice of deconstructing forms into shapes. You will pic a horizon landscape image and deconstruct it down into geometric shapes. From this we will play with different graphic pattern gradients to give it a modern flare.

Assignment PArt 2: Digital Painting a Night Sky- Block it out

Choose a colorful gradient or a sky picture and in a new layer block and blend your sky. This will be used at the sky portion of your Horizon scene.

What is digital Painting

Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques (such as watercolor, oils, impasto, etc.) are applied by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. I work with a Wacom tablet, Corel Painter, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Digital painting is a type of digital art but it is not “computer-generated” art, in that it does not involve the computer automatically generating an image from mathematical models created by the artist. In digital painting, the artist uses painting techniques to create the image directly on the computer.

Digital painting is a process by which the artist uses the paint brush of computer to "paint" the image. This is different from other media art process by way that you are creating the image almost from scratch.
